Updated Defrost Door?

Fellow G3 CTD Owners,



I'm sure some of you have experienced the defrost door failure which causes you to be unable to direct the output of the HVAC system. This recently happened to my '03 (A/K/A as the "duke"). Took it to the dealer where I purchased it and described the problem. Service writer was aware of the TSB and made an appointment for 10 days later (Monday 11/28/05. ) Dropped it off Sunday evening and went to check on it Monday late afternoon. Was told by Service writer "A" that they had to order parts. I asked why they didn't stock parts for known common problems. Was told the "we haven't had many here. " Went back to check on it tonight (11/29) and was told by service writer "B" that the parts wouldn't be in for 5 days because "there is a whole new heater box designed to prevent future failures. ""



Anyone heard of this or is my chain being yanked?

I had a failure similar to this and it was fixed along with a water leak in the backseat in the 5 days they had the truck.

Sounds plausable. Happens a lot in the repair end just like service writer stated.
