Hey yall... I took the plunge last night... traded off my 05 2500 for a 14 dually. Truck is super nice, tons of power and so smooth. Was a ex camper hauler truck... has 32k miles on it.

Little bit disappointed, last night I got home late, went to bring the kids home in it and discovered the rear seat belts are all gone except the two in the cab corners! I know, I should have seen this when I test drove it, but damn who checks seat belts!

Does anyone know where the hell to go to get these replaced? Maybe a known aftermarket or junk yard? I am really ****** I missed this, but gotta get it fixed ASAP so I can use the truck!

If you bought it from a dealer take it right back. It does not pass inspection in that condition. That should have been dealt with before they sold it. I'm sure that they will install them, if not then ask that the deal be negated. In Maine at least you have three business days to do that.

Are you sure that they are not out of sight or in behind the seat?

Thx Mr wilson... I did contact the dealer last night at 1am as I am ****** off searching for the buckles in the middle of the night. I was just hoping for a back up in case I can't get them to fix it.

The truck hauled campers for 11 months since it was bought new (March of 15). It appears the PO removed the back seat for a sleeper of some sore, and apparently didn't feel like reinstalling the belts.

You will not likely find seat belts at a junkyard... It is against federal law to sell belts that have been in an accident and the yards don't want the liability. I'm sure they are available new. Hope the dealer will put it right

Are you sure they are not there?? When the rear seats fold up, the belts will fall down and are under the seats. Fold the seat up and look up under them towards the back, you'll probably find them.

I really doubt the dealer was deliberate about selling the truck without seat belts, you both just overlooked it. You called the dealer at 1 am....you might want to chill a little before they get irritated and the deal goes south.

As Nick says, go easy at first. It's not something that a dealer would be looking for in a 2014 truck. Recon guy wouldn't have paid any attention to it either, would have figured they were there somewhere.

Give them a chance to make it right. But get it done today.

I love these forums!

Fella's, I did not call the dealer at 1am... I sent him an email about it. I also assume he didn't know they were not there and by sending him the email I intended to initiate letting him correct the problem.

I absolutely agree with the poster that said look again.. they have to be there.... I thought the same thing... I was completely astonished that I couldn't find them. I even checked my dads '14 1500 (as I was picking up the kids at his house) to be sure I was looking for them in the right place! Sure enough.. empty bolt holes.

Just goes to show I guess, no matter how carefully you try to go over a truck you always miss to look at something!

Sounds like you have it under control.

Don't be surprised if the dealer has to order the complete seat belt assembly for each seating position. Most of the OEM's that we represent will only sell the assembly now due to liability issues. We used to be able to get the buckle end by itself but not anymore.
