Genuine HotRod Hardware, Inc.

At the pump tonight I was informed I was a dumarse due to stock truck with guages.

This valueable info was provided by some guy in a ford excursion. He asked what I had to go with pillar guages, I stated I was stock for now. His reply was oh great another dumarse stock hero with guages. He then stated he had 300 HP injectors, 300 hp chip, hypertech programmer, 6 in exhaust 8 inch lift 35 inch monster mudders and 5. 13 rears. I asked about his turbo and trannie to which he replied they aren't built by come a part so I left the stock pieces. This conversation took place while his 6 10 inch subwoofers where breaking up although he seemed rather impressed with the sound quailty.

So who is the dumarse him or me?

Ahhh... Nothing I love more then being told how things are by someone who is grossly uninformed  ... I got one like that today when I was filling up my truck

Who was driving the ford, that answers the question :-laf . Maybe he should have bought a truck that wasn't built by come apart so he wouldn't of had to do all the mods

Unfortunately over the past 100 years or so the process of natural selection has been steadily legislated away, which we'll later find is going to lead to the collapse of our civilization, unfortunately.

I guess that makes me a dumbarse too.

I have gauges on a stock truck (not even a HO engine) for 2 reasons:

1) It is a precursor to BOMBing - I can only afford to do one upgrade at a time. Next will be a set of 275's, then exhaust system, and an AFE intake system.

2)Remember the article in the TDR that talked about establishing a baseline? 'Nuff said.

It sounds like he probably has more money (or debt) than brains.

As for natural selection - I think we could use a little chlorine in the gene pool. :-laf

people like the ford dude make me wonder what happened to the process of natural selection.

Natural selection works better in the Southern states, people stupid enough to act like that get hung or shot. Oo.

I thought that a long time ago, when the lists came out about the proper bombing order (Ted Jennety had one), guages were the first thing you did, to protect everything as you progressed, and if nothing else to keep you informed!!

Of course you could not have guages, just IDIOT lights, and guess rather than be forewarned, you could be warned after the event(s) as in IDIOT :-laf

Ditto--

I got guages on around 20k miles have over 76k now. When I bought the truck I negotioned with the dealer for perferred customer package. I got a bumper to bumper warranty for 100k miles, life time oil changes and they top off the fuel tank when I go in for oil changes. As much as I want to play with the truck I can't pass up this package. So guages are just there to monitor things and appearantly invite dumarses to ask questions. I work in IT during the week (on call 24x365) and help haul equipment for my friends on weekends (8 to 12k pounds) plus build and deliver custom furniture. I think without the guages the right foot planted hauling would have broke something by now. I hit 1200 on EGT and back off until 1100 and mantain.

Once the house is paid and I'm over 100k miles (should happen about the same time) I'm done with IT, into full time hauling\custom furniture and BOMBS.

I always get a kick out of stories like that. I just wish something like it would happen to me so I can post one! :)

If you are ever in CT look me up I'll show you the hot spots. Actaully they seem to find me.

it is amazing what the ford boys have to do to keep up with our "cum apart" engines, lol, seems like i have eben reading their trucks have been coming apart more than ours lately :-laf , i highly doubt that dude had half what he claimed to have, and if he didn't have gauges, and did have all that crap, he will soon be pickin up the pieces of his furd over the highway. i mean 300 horse injectors with a stock turbo????, and especially with all the fueling and performance enhancements of the box and the hypertech. i look at most of these types with a smile and then walk away laughing, it hurts em more than getting bent outta shape about it, the justifying soot cloud is also a beautiful thing too but not always practical.
