Hi,

I previously posted asking for shops around Longview, Tx and Relentless Diesel was recommended for my Uncle's truck. He is looking at improving the towing capacity of his 1995 12V manual transmission 3/4 ton 4x4. He recently had the clutch replaced at the dealer and also has had regular service on the engine. The truck is stock as it sits now with over 100k miles on it.

Here is what he is after: "I want to run it all day towing at about 70 min up hill and down and maybe a smooth 85 max with good pull up to there. Tomorrow I will be able to see what the old girl does in stock configuration. Maybe that will be just fine, but I remember wanting just a tish more with the 28 foot triple axle and 17,000 lbs total weight. This rig should be considrerable lighter than that. " He has checked out this website - Relentless Diesel and liked the safe tow package 53hp and 163tq without pushing the limits on EGT's etc.

Kit Includes: A camplate reconfigures the fueling curve to give huge gains in torque yet limits the fueling as the engine speed increases to keep exhaust temperatures down to safe levels. A complete 4" exhaust system reduces backpressure and lowers exhaust temperatures. A high flow intake filter allows more air into the turbocharger. Price: $794 plus installation.

He does not want to push the truck to the limit of having to stare at the EGT and boost gauges. Is the above kit "safe tow" a good package to go with? Any suggestions on the best bang for the buck upgrades while keeping it nice and reliable without staring at the gauges would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
