Upgrading harmonic balancers

The damper is fairly cheap and good insurance. Cummins specs the 215 hp unit for 2600 rpm use.

That spec meaning normal operation is 2600 rpm? Not 2600 max for the dampener?



Looks like I'm going to get a new dampener!

CB... . the Cummins 370 hp marine is rated for 3200 rpm... ... .....

That might be a good choice.



In my marine operators/maint manual they show a pic It's mostly pics... I can understand it) that says to inspect the dampener for leaking... ... . or they might be showing rubber starting to come out of it... .

Looks like I screwed up. A buddy called me on my cell while on the road. Ask if he could borrow a couple parts off my blown Cummins 24V since I had a brandy new one. I said sure, whatcha need? He wanted the Harmonic balancer and something called an injector pump. I said sure, just give my DOC, Dave's Diesel the going rate. They slapped him back together and last they saw him he was headed outta town with his ugly red wedge tailing behind. Haven't heard from him since, so he hasn't broke down. This is the buddy that deadheaded 500 miles to come load my blowed up Ram on his ugly wedge to haul it back to Angola, IN from W. Virginia. I figure I owed him.

hummn i know my marine harmonic balancer is bigger and heavier then my 89's stock damper. . i wasn't sure i i should swap em or noe so i didn't i kept the stocker in there... hummn maybe i'll swap in the marine one when i do the p pump conversion...
