first time i've had a new turbo

question on bigger injectors

Since moving to El Paso the way I had my truck tuned doesn't work well with the elevation difference (2500 ft). I have read good things about the HTB2/62 and thought about an upgrade for more air to keep my EGTs in check. I read somewhere about the drive pressure between the exhaust housings but can't find them any longer. Anybody help me out? I want to stay away from head gasket problems while getting more air from a bigger turbo. Is anybody a source for these turbos with a three piece manifold and down pipe? If so send me a PM and let me know place, price, etc. Thanks.

I dont have one yet, but i will be getting one soon, and have heard MANY good things about an HTB2/62, I know of i guy with about 490 horse at the wheels with an HTB2, and he said it is awesome, but he upgraded to a sledpuller/66 turbo, cuz he went with bigger injectors, but everyone said an HTB2/62/12 is good to about 500 horse at the wheels, so good luck!!!!!

Yeh, I found that the drive pressures were almost 1:1 with the larger 14 CM housing. With the 12 housing it held in pretty good till about 40-42 PSI then the drive pressure starting getting a little high.

I am running a HTB2 62/12. It seems to be happy at 450-500 HP.

It is nice to be able to up grade when I need to. When ever someone comes out with some injectors for a 04. 5.

I once saw where they mentioned the drive pressures for the 12, 14, 16 at something like 40lbs of boost, but I can't find it now. I guess a 1:1 for the 14 wastegated at 40lbs would be ideal. I have heard the 12 housing is awesome, how does the 14 spool... anybody running that one?

The 14 spooled nice with my 6 pseed truck. I think the post you saw about the drive pressures might have been one of mine.

With the Sledpuller being what it is, I would just bite the bullet and shell out a few more $$ for the Diesel Dynamics Ball bearing turbo. Their 2nd gen setup is only $1695. That's a good deal for a BB setup in my book.
