It's time to do the ball joints on my 02 4x4. I noticed that Napa had different degree uppers. What for, and how do I know that I need them instead of the regular ones?

TIA, Geoff

I just looked at Quad 4x4's site. nice price. Does anybody know who is making their joints? Napa's is Moog (Federal Mogel I believe)

Ball Joints

I will be replacing the ball joints in my truck- 02 6 speed. Car Quest's good ones are moog. The friend of mine doing the work said go with the non adjustable ones. I believe the adj. is + or - 1 dig. Also bought a fuel pump, made by Carter, gauranted for life. Dave

Fwiw

I replaced severely worn balljoints at 60K miles with mooge greaseable and at 242K they are as tight as new.

I just did mine and put the Moog adjustable uppers in. (K7396). Had it aligned today and was able to get the caster adjusted better (3. 56* left 3. 68 right) witch I could not do before. No more right pull and it seems to want to wander less. Only a few miles on it now but hope to do a little road trip this weekend. More later Mike

The adjustable joints are if you can't get the caster (or camber) to specs with normal ball joints.

Spicer joints are good. $60 a side when I did mine last summer.
