I was wondering if you can just replace the bushings or do you have to replace the whole control arms.

Where is a good place besides the dealer to get these arms/bushings.

I have a poping noise when I back up and hit the brakes, I think we have it narrowed down to this.

Thanks

Adam

Just replaced the track arm bushings on mine tonite. 8am alignment tomorrow. Bought the kit from Energy Suspensions. Comes with all new graphite impregnated poly bushings new inner sleeves and a tub of nasty clear grease. They suggest and it worked, to use a torch to burn out the old rubber. Worked great except old inner sleeves shot out like rockets when heated real well. Used a flapper wheel to clean up the inside of the large sleeve before installing the new ones. Front end sure is tighter.

:) :) :)

I like FIRE!!!

It's pretty cool to watch the bushings come out like the snakes we had as kids on the 4th of July.

Hey Adam, when I do mine I plan on welding a plate accross to bottom of the channel to stiffen it up, you might want to consider it. It would give almost the same strength as the Rancho (?) trailing arm kits for a lot less money.

Just a thought.

How do you like your new (?) converter?

Part Number for the bushings

PwKnapp,

What was the part number for the kit to do this change? My EN Susp catalog doesn't have a listing. I prefer not allowing a $7/hour parts punk doing the lookup and getting it wrong.

Thanx

The steering shaft can also cause this clunk. Worn track bar and likely worn sway bar bushings and end links. Bad ball joints. .

You might try a flaming river or borgstrom (sp) steering shaft. Or at least grease the slide on the oe unit and assure the rubber boot has some grease in it too.

That may cover most of it. Good luck.

Andy
