US Gear over-drive

Need some input. I installed a US gear over-drive trans. in my 3500. The idea was to give me another gear if I lost fifth-gear again. 3 times. Forth-over at 2000 is 64mph . I like what it does and it works well but there is one thing I am concerned about. When I shift to forth-over and fifth-over sometimes it sounds like the shifter is going to punch a hole in the side of the case. US Gear said it should have a positive shift but this shakes the whole truck. I only use fifth -empty but use the other splits when towing. I don't want to keep on if this hurting the truck. I just want to know if this normal for all trannys.

I think it is normal for the noise. I have driven one with an automatic and when it shifts, I look in the rear view mirror for the driveshaft in the road -). I think most of the noise is created by the backlash in the driveline when the torque reverses.

I have a friend with one and he says it keeps his wife awake!! He did change the oil to a synthetic and says it helped quiet it down some.
