Do any of you guys have any used injectors you would be interested in getting rid of? I need a set of six complete injectors for a first gen in good condition with low miles.

I might be willing to make a trade for some hot POD nozzles if anyone is interested. They have been extrude honed and flow about 15% more fuel than a stock POD.

Don, I'd be interested in a trading with ya. My truck has a set of stock injectors with about 50K miles on them. The previous owner had them replaced. The truck runs great as is, but a set of POD's should do my truck some good. :D

I have a set of PW injectors with < 5K on them sitting on the bench.

I also have a set of stock injectors with about 150K on them, but they are smooth and work well.

Anyone interested?

Thanks,jon

Hey don

they have aprox 140k on them they ran good I changed to pods they have a slight carbon build up arround the tips you can have em cheep if you need em

My first post was weird. Let me try again.

I need a set of 1st gen injectors that are complete and made by Bosch that are new or have low miles

I have a set of extrude honed Lucas POD injectors that are flowing 15% more volume than stock POD's would.

I would like to trade with someone. Remember I dont know how these would run in a 1st gen truck. I had them in a 2nd gen truck behind a P7100 pump. They smoke a bunch with the P pump on full tilt. They even smoke a little at idle.

Let me know what you want for the PW injectors, if you want to get rid of them. PM or email.

Mark

I wonder if someone put these smokers of don's in a first gen with a cranked VE pump if someone could break the 300 hp barrier with a VE pump it would be interesting to see what would happen

300 HP at the rear wheels?

I could try, but the problem lies in having an auto. I need a pile of money to fix it up to the point where it will take the power, as well as transfer it efficiently to the rear wheels.

I think I have the solution workd out, but it's kinda spendy.

3400 rpm pump

Modified turbo housing

Header

PW injectors

Camshaft

4 inch exhaust.

Crank the fuel heavy.

Possible extrude hone on the nozzles for more flow.

Why them, and not the POD's? 1 more hole. You gotta mix the fuel and air well to make power.

What about extrude honing a set of 215 injectors from a 2nd gen 12 valve--don't they have 6 holes?

Mike

one I think little known piece of info, at least I didn't know is it seems like I saw Don mention that stock POD injectors flow more fuel than 370's which seems likely cause the VE is operating at a lot lower injection pressure than the p7100

yes, they do. But the type of "extrude honing" I was referring to is the kind that makes 3-10% difference from only cleaning up and polishing the bores.

This is roughly what using them for 100K miles would do, except that there are certain other wear factors that work against you.

The 215 injectors flow slightly less that stock injectors from a 93, so doing something to them would involve quite a bit of change in flow. And then, there is a problem where too many holes too large ends up weakening the tip, though I don't know if that's really a factor for our purposes.

You are correct, but it's possible to mix and match parts around to get most tips into most holders.

yea just wanted everybody to know that they cant just pull out there injectors and swap and hav a set of larger injectors for there truck with out doing any more work to them

Cummins Cowboy,

Sure you could get 300 RWHP with them. Heck, I have 270 HP now with PW's and still have a few more things to do. I feel confident that 300 HP is doable with the PW's if some other things have been done such as better air in, larger exhaust, etc.

Now, having said that, Mark is right- the transmission is in jepardy so we'll see what happens.

Injector trade?

Don

I have two sets of stock injectors, both out of 1993 trucks.

one set has 76,000 miles on them and got good mileage before we swapped in a set of PWs.

The other set has 173,000 miles on them before we swapped in a set of PODs :D This latter set got worse mileage and seemed low on power.

If your still looking for injectors I would be glad to trade because my dads 98 really needs more fuel;)
