Found a used 86gallon transfer flow auxiliary tank. Any questions I need to ask seller or anything I need to know about installing this in my 2013 before I go look at it? Thanks

If you don't get a response pm Joe Donnelly, I believe he has their system on his 13 and had one on his 3rd gen also.

Beyond the basics of "does it work," I think I'd also want to know what kind of pump system, controller, and even the tank's serial number (if possible). Then I'd call Transfer Flow customer service to see if the pump and controller are compatible with my vehicle, or if any updates / installation kits may be required.

Best regards,

John L.

There have been generational improvements in the controller system, and the pump over the years. Also the controller needs to be programmed for the main tank capacity. I don't know if all Ram sending units have the same resistance range, etc. As above, check with Transfer Flow. Also, is the tank aluminized steel or diamond plate aluminum? Are you sure it is clean inside? Is the discount vs. new big enough to be worth the potential issues?

Priced at $500 but unfortunately I can't get a hold of the seller now. If i do I'll get the info and call transfer flow. Thanks for the advice.

Just had them install one on my 14 last month. With the newer trucks thier fuel gauge does not work . They should have a new one soon it is about $50 . Call them they are
great to work with and they will make sure you have what you need to install and set up properly.lt is a low lfow pump and when you tank is installed properly it will begin pumping at one half and stop at three fourths so as not to over fill your tank. If it is black powder coat and your bed is has a sprayed in liner have your tank done it looks great and it will not scratch up . Hope that helps.

I have the TRAX-II on my 2013...
Joe,

Back in May when I was getting a tank installed at Transfer Flow, I asked about getting the TRAX-II in my 2014 and they said it wouldn't work. I had to settle for the MAXFLO-TFI system instead.

Something must have changed between the 2013's and 2014's.

I bought a used Transfer Flow 74 gallon bed tank years ago. Installed it in my 04, I had to buy a new computer from transfer flow to make it work. Now I switched that tank to the 2013, got a different controller and it works just as well as it did in the 04. Fuel gauge works, DTE works It all good

Something was changed in the 14 Rams the trax 2 does not work but they are supposed to have some new gauge coming our
That is whatthey told me when they installed it in May

Just talked to seller and transfer flow. Tank has no transfer flow pump or gauge but uses a different electric fuel pump to send fuel to vent line of main tank. Transfer flow is checking to see if they can make me a factory install kit with calibrated gauges etc. if they can't I'll probably use the sellers set up. For $300 it's hard to pass up. Its been out of service for about a month. Should I try to clean/rinse the tank before installation? If so, what should I use? Clean diesel?

Moved my Transfer Flow from my 2003 to my 2013. I did need a new Trax II computer module as the 2013 uses a 50-990 ohm fuel tank sending unit. Transfer Flow has top notch customer service. Brad will help you solve any issues you have. You can get the complete instructions form Transfer Flow. Including which wires to splice into. Its not a hard install. Toughest part is cutting the steel vent line under the bed near the fuel filler to splice the supply line into. Ken Irwin

We'll, I got it bought. Now waiting to see if I can get parts and a gauge from transfer flow. If i can't does anyone know the size of the vent line so I can get a fitting to splice into it? Thanks

Transfer flow wants $700 for parts so it looks like ill do it myself. Where is a good place to mount a switch for the pump on the dash?

Well I finally got the tank installed. I cleaned tank out with algicide and clean diesel. Bought a new fuel pump from napa and ran line into vent tube. Put a lighted rocker switch on dash in front of def gauge. Ran switch through painless fuse block. Don't have a gauge to tell me how much fuel is in aux tank but I've only got $450 in the entire system.
