I have a heavy duty 3/4 ton longbed truck with the quad cab and would like to know has anyone installed and used a US Gear aux. transmission.
Thanks DAVE

Hi Dave:

Welcome aboard! The US Gear OD unit has been discussed at length in this forum. To help you get "up to speed" on the topic I suggest you go to the top of the page to the "Search" field under FORUM GUIDELINES, click on it and then respond to the questions. It'll take you directly to the topic you're after.

Another alternative is to find where it says "Show Topics for last 20 Days". Scroll down until you reach "Show All Topics", highlight it and then click on "GO". Anything that's ever been discussed in the forum will show up. It's a lot of fun that way but it takes time.

Good Luck!

I have a US Gear unit in my truck. I chose the underdrive because I do most of my pulling in the mountains of NC. I have the 3:54 gears. I am thinking very seriously about spending the $500 to turn the gears around in the unit and go overdrive. Love the ability to split gears, keeping the engine right in the power band at all times. I don't like the shock to the drive train when shifting, if you "don't get it right". The unit has been in my truck 35,000 miles with no problems.
