I will be installing a usgear aux trans real soon. My question is when shorting the rear shaft what are the pro's and con's of going to a new single shaft or just shorting the front section of the rear shaft. If you have had one installed or installed it yourself which way have you gone? and how is it working?

I shortened the rear driiveshaft on 2 trucks so far and have had no problems at all. My truck has about 40k on the US gear with no problems. I have heard of others that have had problems with one piece drive lines.
