Hi Guys,

Do you know of anyone that has put Gen3 tires and wheels on a Gen2 truck? I have a 2001. 5 2500 and I have just found out that 3 of my wheels are cracked!

Thanks,

The Average Joe

I had my 3rd gen tires and wheels on my 99 seemed to fit fine the 99 stock had steel wheels and the 3rd gens were aluminum so its probably would not be a bad idea to add longer wheel studs. I ran them for about 10k with the shorter studs that EMS provided with the hub kit

It will work. If the rims are still holding the air with the cracks I would run them, depending on how large the cracks are... One of my rims has a crack and its holding up fine.

I have two friends running 3rd Gen aluminum wheels on 2nd Gen's (98' & 99'). Both required new lug nuts. The 2nd Gen lug nuts won't work with 3rd Gen wheels.

Mine work fine with my factory '95 lug nuts and studs. 4X2 though if that matters.

The offset is slightly different, the 3rd Gen wheels sit IN a little more than the 2nd Gen's. Just enough to rub the inner wheel weights off on the upper A-arm on my truck.
