Rules are very liberal. Any one can come out and pull.

Rules ----> http://unitedpullers.com/webtext/rule1.htm

Had a great time last year!!

There are only two classes. If you have any chip, intake or anything else for that matter you are considered "Modified"

There were some guys running a "straight exhaust" last year in the stock class.

Stock Diesel

Weight limit will be 8000 lbs.

Must be completely stock and street legal with only an aftermarket exhaust system being allowed.

Visual modifications are allowed, i. e. lift, tires, wheels, etc.

26” maximum hitch height.

D. O. T. street legal tires only. No bar tires or cut tires.

No hanging weight extending beyond the vehicle.

Solid or blocked suspensions are not allowed.

General Rules apply

Modified Diesel

Weight limit will be 8000 lbs.

Must be street legal.

Truck must have visible VIN number that matches that on the valid registration and insurance.

Engine must be a factory available diesel engine. Maximum of two turbos.

Nitrous Oxide is not allowed. Propane, water, alcohol injection are allowed.

Aftermarket transmissions and transfer cases are allowed.

Exhaust must have either two 7/16” dia. Bolts placed through the pipe perpendicular to each other, or a screen of the exact pipe diameter placed in the pipe(s) somewhere after the turbocharger(s).

26” maximum hitch height.

D. O. T. street legal tires only. No bar tires or cut tires.

Hanging weights is allowed but cannot extend more than 60 inches from centerline of front axle. No loose weights in cab or under hood will be allowed.

Driveline hoops are recommended but not required.

Solid or blocked suspensions are allowed.

A fire extinguisher in working condition is required to be within easy reach of the driver.

General Rules apply.

Sounds like fun, but what's with putting bolts in the exhaust pipe? I'd like to play, but I don't want to do that.

what's with putting bolts in the exhaust pipe

It's to keep broken pieces of turbochargers etc. from making their way into the crowd at high velocities. :-laf  Especially in the straight piped, through the hood type of exhausts.

But I don't get why a guy with a bascially stock truck, other than 35" tires would have to do that.

There is no one that falls under the stock diesel class according to those guidelines. Stock sized tires are like 31"s. 26" tires? Maybe on a little car.

Oh well, maybe I'll go watch. I'm not messing up my exhaust.

Almost all the guys last year DID NOT have the bolts.

The only thing that will get you "in hot water" is the use of nitrous, sqeeze, NOS, NAAAAZZZZZZZZZZ. etc :-laf

26"?? Not the tire size, the max hitch hieght.

The stock class says Visual modifications are allowed , i. e. lift, tires, wheels, etc.

where is the event in tooele? a fairground or something?

Deseret (Desert?) Peak Complex. In the middle of the outdoor arena. Thats where it was last year.

I am going to get a time and exact location from Skyler and will post it.

I'm not sure what I read, but I just looked at the rules again and it makes a bit more sense. Now do you have to have a special hitch, or just a trailer hitch??

I would be fun to pull a sled down the track a couple times for the heck of it... even though my truck is nothing compared to most of the trucks pulling.

I just use one of these twisted clevises slid in where the ball would go on the hitch. It's pretty easy to adjust you height with some big washers. No matter what place you come in sled pulling is a BLAST and addicting. :D

I have a D ring that goes into the hitch. 10k rated. . what kind of weight do these sleds have?

D ring will work, just make sure it has a large enough opening for the hook to fit.

Mine is 3" dia, but a few guys that pulled last year had smaller ones that still worked.

If you pull, do not forget your helmet.

why do we have to wait all winter and not have and indoor pull around maybe justin you could bring that up to skyler just a thought and man am i ever getten a itchen for a hitchen we'll see ya at the pulls cahammer
