Bad news is that I accidently bashed into a moron making an illegal left turn.

Good news is that I got a UTE Bullbar for net cost to me of $500.

Good news is that even though he had trouble speaking English, he had insurance.

Bad news is that he got nasty with me because he thought the accident was my fault. Both insurance companies disagreed with him! Ha!

Bad news is that I had to drive around with my stock front bumper touching my radiator for 2 months while a UTE came from Aussie-land.

Good news is that that UTE bumper is AMAZING! I love it.

But now I am wondering what other guys are putting into the light holes for fog-lights. I don't particularly like the stock fog-lights. Anybody using something different and neat which will light up the road better at night?

On my UTE, I used "Catz", model "MSC". I found that these were about the same size as original fog lights, but

WAY better. They are not plastic, and you can use a higher watt bulb if you so desire. I have the "clear", and in my

opinion they provide excellent lighting, plus they fit perfect

in the bumper.

The stock fogs never really fitted right in my UTE.

I was thinking on getting some tabs welded to the grill bar and going the KC HID's (Can you see me now?), but money is the problem right now.

My UTE bumper came with brackets to mount lights in the round holes. I had a set of factory fogs, but after seeing how "cheap" they seemed, I "searched" TDR. I had missed

out on a "group" purchase on the Catz MSR, but contacted

the dealer, and mentioned TDR. They gave me the group

price. I am very happy with these lights. I have them switched independently, so in extreme adverse weather, they can be used w/o the headlights, which is permitted in my state. My UTE also has holes in the top of it, and one

could mount lights there. I am a big fan of Cibie & Hella

lights, but they did not have something that would fit in the round holes in front, that is why I went with the Catz.

I'm sure if you did a search for Catz lights, you will find the

sorce, I just don't remember the name of the company.

I put stock fog lights in my UTE and added four driving lights mounted on a strip of aluminum. I have to agree about the stock fog lights - they don't do much for driving. The four driving lights on the other hand - daylight for about a 1/2 mile.

Thanks, Eric. I wondered about that when I was putting the lights together but have no problems even when it’s 90+ degrees here in Colorado. In fact, I had my thermostat stick open (see my reader’s rigs gallery) and could not get the truck above 140 degrees no matter how hard I tried. I’m at 7000 feet and run DDIIs, a #10, with 3. 54s and 295s behind a tight auto transmission. Kinda have the deck stacked against me! My only real problems are turbo lag and smoke. If I ever get around to taking care of the cat, I might be able to help those.

Well i found a great source for Catz lights. They can be bought for a great price over at foglights.com. If they don't have them email them and they usually get right back to you. Great service.

I ended up get the MSC, the Piaa 510 were $50 more than the MSC.

MMMmmm maybe it's my T stat.

I have the same bumper w/o the massive aircraft landing lights :D and I have my license plate on the front reciever hitch (made it out of 3/8 plate steel!!).

Maybe I'll try it w/o the license plate, then I guess I'll change the stat next.

It's not "outta hand" hot, just warmer than it was with the stock bumper.

Truck is pretty much stock, pulling a 32' wilderness. Not much in the way of hills around these parts.

I don't have a problem with engine temp. with the bumper. I noticed i was getting higher temp with the tstat. Replaced it and everything went back to normal.

I bet you that is your problem.
