V A smartbox vs edge

hi guys, i have a lead on a va smartbox r, guy sold his diesel. its 2 years old. says its in perfect working condition and really worked well on his 2000. ? is how do these rate to the edge boxes ? anybody with a VA on board please let me know how you like it. thanks in advance !!

ramon, I first ran a van aaken box back in 2000, its a great box . grab it if the price is right

ok guy's, threw the VA box in, plugged the map harness in, plugged in the vp-44 plug, boost elbow, started right up( kinda funny knocking sound initially, then idled fine) but no throttle, won't rpm up. push peddle down , nada. i mean 2 plug in set-up is not to hard, but knowin me i could of done something stupid. or does this tell you the box is cooked. what do you think?????

Dont the 99's have a different map sensor voltage than the 2000 and up? But, if that is the case, the plugs would not have fit. Now I got myself confused.

Does that box plug directly into the vp? Or does it plug into the ECM port that is normally not hooked to anything?



I would say you need to clean your connections. The 99 and 2000 should be the same map voltage.
