Is there a way to prevent the wings from folding when in the straight position? Or do they all fold when pushing heavy loads?

All v plows have relief valves. Tee a gauge in at the junction of the angle cyl and valve. Extend the wing to the straight position, then use a come along to pull it back into the v position. Note the psi required and compare it to specs in your owners manual. Does this happen to both wings or just 1? If just 1 try switching hoses side to side. If the problem follows the hose, you have valve problems. If it stays on the same side, the cyl is leaking by.

It seems to happen more easy on the left wing. I do not remember the owners manual saying anything about relief pressure. By the way it is a Boss 8'2". If the cylinder is leaking by,is it leaking out or just loosing pressure?

I have a Boss 9. 2 VXT. Relief pressure is 2800psi. Cyl could be leaking internally. 1st swap hoses and test. If the problem stays on the same side, it's the cyl. If it moves to the other side, Its in the valve.

I don't have any problems with my plow.
