Looking for an automotive repair service center

are there ANY!!! real truck cabs?

I know quite a few people with them that have had great luck, almost like Prius's in the way you want them to break down for a quick laugh but never really do. There is the spark plug issue but fairly minor compared to what issues other engines have, terrible mileage and not as much power as one would expect but seem to hold up pretty well overall.

From what I understand the spark plug blowing out problem was fixed in 2003ish. They added threads so the plugs would actually have something to grab on to. I've got a few friends that run them and the only small problems that have with them is coil failure. Just replace them around 80k with a full set and you are good to go.

They pull pretty well and run good otherwise.

My buddy took a trip to TN in a F 350 with his brother in law towing a 5vr. He said the v10 didn't skip a beat but the pedal was on th floor and the motor was screaming on every grade.

Best thing about triton v10 these days is the price. A diesel is way better for mileage and power, but the v10's are way cheaper to buy.

The problem that some if not ALL of the 6.7 owners are going to eventually face is the nearly $2,000 replacement cost of the filter. That's PARTS ONLY for the ones that cant do the work themselves. Read the 4th gen segment of this forum and other websites MORE THAN ENOUGH PROBLEMS ARE OCCURING to keep me away from the BBQ exhaust systems, if at all possible.

A buddy of mine has a New ford with a V10 and he say's 6 mpg if your Lucky .now yes his is a service truck with Gen set and air compressor but still .For some reason the State of Calif won't buy any more diesel Pick/up's I guess they got hit Hard with the last batch of Ford's and won't make that mistake again.

Our Mechanic from ALL Crane has one as well and does not givea good report on it. Says its underpowered and gets HORRIBLE gas mileage. Keep in mind he had the identical truck prior to the Gasser with the 6.7 Power Stroke, so weights are very similar. He puts a ton of miles on his truck and the company got tired of all the repeated issues they were having with the Diesel so they bought 2 new Gasser rigs and removed the 2 highest mileage diesels. He's had it close to a year and the trucks already got over 60k miles on it, so time will tell how durable they are. All of his miles are near max GVW.

BIG, are you thinking about buying a new rig? Adding to the fleet or replacing the Dodge? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

JR I got Pizzed off at our local feed store owner. I don't really buy that much from him but he gave me a Ration of **** and basically told me to head to Missoula to get my feed.

I recently lost an Aunt in Nebraska that left me 5,000 acres that was leased out to a Major Commercial grower. It also had a rail spur attached to it that when I was like 10 years old use to drive my Grandfathers truck loaded with corn to the spur, where an Adult would empty the corn in a Grizzly and let me drive it back for another load, BIG TIME memories for me. :D

Anyway Nebraska is WAY TO FLAT FOR ME. So I contacted our Lawyers and they got me a FANTASTIC price for the land. I was advised to invest SOON or pay so much it Taxes that it wouldn't be funny. I bought a 2.75 acre chunk of land at home built a hay storage shed and building and RAN THE PXICK Feed store owner the hell out.

The reason for the truck is hay transport. I have rethought the idea of transporting large amounts of hay to the store. The hassle with DOT PUC ICC and a host of other people that have their hands in your pocket when your a Commercial operation & the fact that I would have to do the maint, Driving and all the stuff that I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH AGAIN. The Father, Son company that hauls our hay caught me looking at Peterbuilt trucks and Trailers and asked if he cut the delivery charge would we stay with him? SO I WILL FOR NOW. I recently bought a Gradall telescopic lift and had a Hay Squeeze added to unload trucks with hay and pallets of sack goods. We went to Calif for that because of all the companies selling equipment rather than let it sit and still be paying for it. Again we got a really good deal on the lift.

I still need a truck for local deliveries not everyone has the desire or ability to haul hay to their house, and I still have to run to the grain mills for sack products IE Chicken, Pig, Horse, Goat feeds. So im still in the market to find a truck for hauling this type of product with my Gooseneck BIG TEX trailer.

Penny and I plan on getting this off the ground (its going great for only 3 weeks in Business) We have a couple that is going to run the business and I can get back into the mountains on my Mules where I belong.

Its actually been fun to get this up and running, I have cut the hay price to the customers almost in half and Im Still making one hell of a profit. A better selection of sack feed and other critter equipment that he didn't carry. Plus the fact that I REALLY LIKE TALKING with the local Critter People, they learn, I learn and everyone is happy. I'm not trying to corner the market on feed, most of us that live where we do are hear for the same reason, the love of the mountains on horseback.

Fest NOPE YOUR WRONG.

Fest I had a big explanation of WHY your wrong but this is the holiday season and, well you know that a person is supposed to be full of cheer (90 Proof) so I wont use the expletives that I normally would have and then be censored anyway.

If a person has something of interest, I listen. As with Many on this Site in the BOZO Political Section " The only answer that matters is THEIR OWN" This is NOT conversation its ????????? Stupidity!!!!

Have a Happy Holiday Fest

Merry Christmas BIG & Penny N CREW Glad to see you up and around Big Guy :)

Merry Christmas Back at Ya!!! Simplysmn.

I'm really glad to be up and around, this one scared the Be-Jesus Out of me (But I wont admit to it If asked) I have worked to the point that I can saddle up and down 50 times without much pain and then only near the end of the 50. I can ride about 10 miles (right now) without crying (to much) still working on the distance part. It's taking time to get through this one, at the time I left the hospital the Vascular Surgeon said that my Horseback riding days were done. I said that's fine I RIDE A MULE!! at Thanksgiving he was invited to dinner. I brought out Daisy (my riding Mule) saddled up and rode around and dismounted & gave him a chance to retract his statement about Never riding a 4 legged animal again. He's invited me to several group therapy sessions where we talk to people who have debilitating injuries and how the mind can be used to regain movement and show Vascular Surgeons that they DONT ALWAYS KNOW EVERYTHING.

The Human (not saying that I belong in that description) spirit and body is a marvelous thing when used together many things can be accomplished that were thought NEVER EVER GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

BIG, as for the V10, I've worked on several and actually own one in an Excursion. I have plans on transplanting it, but at the moment, it's holding strong at 155k miles and 10mpg on a good day. The spark plug issue is also something I think that involves environmental factors, such as freezing water coming down between the hood and cowling, puddling in the poorly designed head around the spark plug, and lifting the plug when freezing, taking threads with it. The rearward coils seem to be hardest hit in failure rates, also from water saturation. A vehicle driven daily doesn't seem to have the problem, nor one parked inside or under a carport.

As for the human mind, I don't have much of one left. As for the spirit, it is something that can't be contained, and will eventually escape these hulls!! Marvelous, indeed!!
