I have a VA Box Would like to add 275's boost fooler and elbow.

What kind of power to the ground would this combo put out? Would there be any egt problems. Also what kind of VB torque converter set up would be recomended? Thaks for any info.

Your truck will do 280 HP or so to the ground with the combo you suggest. It is a FANTASTIC towing setup without needing to modify the intake and exhuast systems. EGT will be easily under control, and if you keep the RPM up when pulling the grade EGT will not be high enough to even worry about.

You will need a VB for sure if you are going to tow. If you are not towing and can keep your head about you while showing off and horsing around you can go without the VB. If you go without a VB the potential is there to smoke the transmission in a hurry. The TC is icing on the cake, you don't need it but it sure will be better with it. Decide which system makes more sense to you and give that company your money, odds are it will work fine. My thoughts are that if a single disc will not slip when running 700HP and 12 second quarter miles I don't need 2 discs more to "help". I also did not want to mess with locked shifts, controllers, or wait for lockup to put the power down. The penalty I pay ( and there is ALWAYS a penalty of some form) is in the form of lag. The tight fluid coupling holds the engine down and delays the boost coming up. Boost comes up a tad later than stock and then it is OUTTA HERE!!!

EDIT: forgot to mention that even though the TC holds the engine down the torque multiplication is BETTER down low. For instance with the stock TC it took 14-16 PSI of boost with the brakes held lightly to break the rear tires loose. Now it takes 5-6 and they are turning. That means that your trailer will get moving quite easily, easier than it does with the stock TC by a lot. Get up to speed easier and faster means less heat made and less aggravation, as well being safer.

Think about it, talk to the companies and by all means talk to owners that are not trying to sell you something. Some guys have their brand of transmission in their blood and refuse to think logically about the subject, avoid them. You also need to drive a couple different setups if at all possible. THAT is the way to decide IMO.

Hope MY take on it helps in some way... ... .

I ran the setup you are talking about for 1+1/2 years with the stock TC but did have the valve body modified. I only towed light 3,000 boat. Ran great, towed great, but had to be careful.

With the stage III bullydog's and no towing, the TC was toast in two months!

You should see no EGT problems with the upgrade as long as you add the boost fooler and elbow.
