Got any New Years resolutions?

Just want to get some opinions here... . sister in law and her fiance want my wife and I to go on a cruise with them. I am really not that excited about it because I can think of other things I would rather do on vaca... . i. e. May Madness, Thunder In Muncie. The only good things I can think of about a cruise would be women in bikinis ;) and the food buffets.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I took the cruise up the Canadian coast to Alaska and enjoyed it immensely because of the incredible scenery. Think I'd get bored out of my mind on a tropical cruise though. Most of the things you can do a cruise ship including bikini watching can be done on land just as well plus you have the option of walking away. Probably could have more fun in Las Vegas for less money. Just remember to schedule your trip around May Madness. :)

It they are paying for it go. Never been on one so I will not comment. But cruises are not my style. I think I would rather be standing under a tree watching the leaves fall to the ground.

How bad do you wanna get the Norwalk virus? If you really have a desire to get it, by all means go on a cruise and enjoy! :p :p Oo. Oo.

You beat me to it. :D Actually we have some friends that have taken cruises and really enjoyed them. Another friend of my wife has taken them and said that they had a daycare on the ship that took care of the children for the parents. We plan to take a Disney cruise next year with our two boy's

My wife, 2 boys & I went on the Explorer of the Seas (Royal Carribean) and did the Eastern Carribean cruise last february. This was our first cruise. There are a lot of things to do both on and off ship. The food was great and there was a lot of it. We liked it so much we scheduled the Western Carribean for Feb 2004 and then we are hoping to go to Alaska in 2006. There were about 5000 people on board including the 1500 crew members. But with a 1000' ship and 15 decks there was never really a crowd. A good friend of mine tells me "Go and enjoy yourself... . you're dead a long time"

Not associated with Royal Carribean in any way. It was just a great time for us. :D

Hey Paul,

You can come to Muncie, get drunk, and puke over the fender of your truck. OR, you can spend a week puking over the railing of a ship!:D :-laf ;) Good luck with your decision!:D

Wife and I went with another couple from Church this past March/April. Was OK. Not a good value, in my opinion. Wouldn't go on one again.

Basically been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. Next???

Cruise

I've been on a cruise and a lot depends on the Cruise Line and the age of the ship. The food and service are great - but If you don't like being cooped up with several thousand other people it won't be a lot of fun. For what you would pay for a cruise you could spend some time in Australia/New Zeland. I've been to Australia - wonderful place-beautiful sites- great people. Of ocurse I like doing my own thing - going and seeing what I want to see. Would I cruise again - probably not- . I rather spend the time traveling to great places and doing so at my own schedule.

:D

Try another travel dimension, you might like it. Its nice to have people waite on you. Pick a good cruise line and you won't be sorry. You get what you pay for. Jim

[/B][/QUOTE] LSMITH How about the sister in law, is she hot? Could make a big difference... ... .

Thanks for all the replies guys. I will invite her to the next "Bombing Session" and you guys can decide ;)

I've done the cruise thing too. Took the Eastern Carribean cruise on a ship named Century (Celebrity Cruises). Girlfriend and I had a BLAST.

We stopped in San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maartin, and Nassau. We snorkeled, swam with the dolphins, rode waverunners, shopped till we dropped, ate wonderful meals, met some great people, and experienced the best service I've had anywhere. That crew on that ship knew how to treat guests. We never wanted for anything. The buffet's were awesome, the dinners even better. Even the drinks weren't watered down.

That's not to say it wasn't expensive though. I agree with others that for the same money we could have gone other places on our own schedule. But now that we've been on the cruise we want to go back to St. Thomas on our own.

I wouldn't trade that experience for anything else. 'Course, it was good to get back in the TRUCK and drive home from the airport.
