Possible move to Tucson

RATTLESNAKE dang near got me!!!!!

What's everyone doing for vacation this year? I can't get away from home for more than a few hours so I am trying something different this year.

My wife and I, starting this past Memorial Day, are taking every Friday off until labor day plus the entire July fourth week. We both were on seven day coverage jobs for years then with the job cutbacks, we went back on five days.

This is great! I put in three long days on our farm, crawl back into work on Monday and rest up for four days. Then right back at it again. It helps if you can do your work in your sleep of course. Glad I don't drive for a living anymore.

It's gonna be tough come Sept though when I go back to five days.

Wife and I are headed to Seattle, WA in July. She has business meetings during the day and I have nothing but time to visit...

Just got home yesterday from Niagra Falls and Thunder In Muncie... now back to reality... if I could only win the lottery and take a permanent vacation! Oo.

ALASKA!!!Oo.

Leave July 27th, return August 8th. Taking my 78 year old Dad up Salmon and Halibut fishing. He has never been to Alaska. One week in a floating cabin in Orca Bay area out of Cordova(float plane out to the cabin), an all day Halibut charter from Cordova, and then over to the Kenei Penensula for a few days of sight seeing and maybe a salmon trip on a charter boat.

Tried to get my 25 year old son to go with us but he had prior commitments(just got married a year or so ago and needs to go somewhere with his bride. Hopefully can go next year and take him up.

This will be my 4th trip up there and I'm just as excited now as I was on the first one!:)

Diesel Dyno Stampede in Calgary July 13-14 pretty much dead centre in the middle of my holidays..... in typical fashion for me I'm gonna be thrashing hard to get everything done right up until the last minute... ... . :D ... . whatever-I work better under pressure! Leaves me some time to recuperate before I go back to work.

10th - 24th of Aug ..... TDR nationals ... . then on to the Schied Rally ... . can you say ... . GREAT VACATION!!!

Gotta love the little lady!!

I rented a house in Las Vegas for the 4th of July week. It has its own pool and hot tube, game room and is fully firnished. I have a boat, and some Personal Water Crafts ready to go for Lake Mead. Planing on go to Wet and Wild, catching some shows and some gambling. Just me, my best friend, and her three kids, oh lets not forget her mom. Leaving in just a few short weeks.

I am also planning on discovering Oregon also later this summer. I will have my Jeep ready by then and travel the back roads.

If you can't get your son to go, I sure as heck would!! I would love to go back. lol

I'm not really on a vacation, but I havent been in work since May 11th. I have kidney stones, and the meds I MIGHT need to take are pretty heavy duty (a synthetic morphine derivitive), so I cant drive or work, or operate machinery.

You talk about being depressed. :-laf :-laf Not supposed to have beer either. :(

My next doctor appointment is for July 9th. He'll know more then.

I've been going to the ocean fishing almost every day, and I saw a movie the other day ,something I havent done in years.

I have to get the camper ready. I'd like to go to Pennsylvania for a week or so. If I need the meds, the wife can drive the rig while I scream and space out. (the pain usuially aint that bad) Maybe go visit my parents in Maine for a while... .

As you can tell, this really bothers me.

The pain hasnt been too bad. Bearable.

I'm going on my REAL vacation in August.

Probibally just about the time I'll be returning from this medical leave. I forget if I put in a week, or two.

*edit* forgot to mention they've been giving me full pay. :p

Stones?

Eric, stones do suck. My best friend has them and just got back from having ultrasound to bust em up. He says everytime he passes one he just about passes out. He also says if he had to do it all over again he would have them cut out. Good luck and keep the faith. Do a few of the things you never had time for before.

CF: passing them wasnt all that bad (I have no idea why, I damn for sure aint no Johnny Holmes) It's when theyre moving inside my substantial gut is when I need the meds. :p:D

I'm going to have the lithotripsy (sp?) done to them. Sounds like it's the same procedure as your friend had.

This sucks... :{ I just got back from mine last week. The wife and I and another couple went to Cozumel for a week.

I'm not usually a beach type person, but Cozumel was great!!! We got an all inclusive trip at a resort for $500 each that included, airfare, shuttle to the resort, all the food we could eat, and all the drinks we could drink (including alcohol).

Couldn't beat that deal with a stick... . we took a 4 hour ATV trip through the jungle, drank, snorkeled, drank, hung out and smoked cigars and watched the sunsets while we drank,,,,already planning for a longer stay next year with all of our friends, thats what sucks, I would much rather be there than at work... . :( . . oh well gives me something to look forward to... ;)
