vaccum pump chatter

I've been having this ticking or chatter sound comming from my engine compartment I've checked my valve adjustment change my fuel filter sit notice it. after wearing stephiscope it seem to be comming from the vaccum pump motor operates fine is this posible if so what should be my next step. thanks jim

If it is a '94-'98, it is most likely the fuel transfer pump. Mine has a "tick" that sounds like a valve rocker out of adjustment. It is just behind the vacuum pump.
