You have a deeper problem (likely). The check valve has taken a leave of absense. You should not have oil in you vacuum lines.

It has allowed engine oil to contaminate your vac. lines. It will eventually migrate inside the cab and get the diaphrams in the acuators for the hvac vent doors. You then will not be able to to control where the blower sends the airflow.
It can also wreck the cruise control servo.
DC has an update ck. valve but very expensive.
I can scoure up a cummins number, it is not the correct part like DC, but you can get the guts to go inside your ck. valve to prevent oil contamination though.
$50 vs DC's $200. I've had this to work on several trucks, where DC would do nothing and the customer had tight money contstraints (sp).
Contact cleaner will clean the lines out, but usually the oil swells the rubber connectors which you can source from DC. The hard plastic lines usually clean up well.
On the touchy brakes I'm guessing the power booster is getting some vacuum previously deprived? The oil will get the ck. valve on the power booster sometimes too. .
