I have narrowed a 4x4 problem to the vacuum switch/rubber connector on top of the transfer case. The truck is a 1997 model. If I push back on the rubber connector, I can get vacuum to the front axle. I am having a little problem getting the connector all the way down on the switch. I am thinking about changing out the switch and the rubber connector. Can the connector be bought seperately from the dealer? Thanks.

The vacuum CAD is garbage. Now way around it. It has left me stranded several times. One small pin hole, and it will suck water in. This will render the vacuum CAD inoperable. I'd recommend getting a Posi-Loc cable operated CAD. It will give you 4 wheel low, and it works. Good luck.

A couple of us have noticed recently that the rubber connector no longer fits tightly at the CAD. We used zipties to help clamp it on tighter. The question about whether a new connector is available was asked, but never answered. I have a feeling it will be one of those "you need to buy a whole new octopus to get a new molded connector" deals.
