I have been riding a year now with the ABS & Brake light burning.

The truck brakes OK but every now and then pedal goes to the floor.

The searches on ABS/Brake light don't give much info on the fix. Unhook wires and re-install... etc

When the vac pump fails is it a complete failure or partial?

Thanks!

Only thing I can suggest is checking all your vaccum lines to make sure one is not disconnected or cracked. I had low vaccum /no cruise /brake light on when the tube to the cruise servo rotted right by the servo..... Some DC engineer thought a good place for it was under a wet cell battery tray... Acid rain... ...... . Its a very common problem with these trucks. Good luck.

TFPace,

Your problem sounds more like the master cylinder, or brake fade.

If you loose vacuum to brake booster you would loose power brakes. The brake system should default back to manual brake mode. That would make brake pedal harder to push down.
