Help! My daughter's 96 has developed a oil leak at or near the vacuum pump and says it will take $1000. 00 to fix. She is in KS and I'm in WA. I haven't had any problems with my pump so I wasn't able to help her. Her Machanic says no problem, not to worry, but an oil leak to a girl is 'awfull'. What is the best route for her, short of me going to KS?

Thanks for any help

You might try getting a hold of member "CPFF" he sells or at least used to sell the seal so that the entire pump doesn't have to be replaced. Not sure but think I remember the seal is 20ish from him.

Oil Leak

The leak could also be coming from the gasket between the vacuum pump and the gearcase. If there is a drop of oil on the head of the lower mounting bolt, chances are it's just that gasket.
