I got the seal and o-ring from CPFF.

I put the new seal in the vacuum pump assembly. I drove the old seal out and drove the new seal in the aluminum bushing/adapter, but the o-ring on the adapter seemed good.

The o-ring CPFF sent me was bigger than the one on the adapter. I assume the o-ring wasn't from the adapter.

The only other o-ring was on the vacuum pump itself. There was a big, orange/black thin o-ring that seals the vacumm pump to the adapter. The o-ring CPFF sent was too small for this. So I put it back together without changing o-rings.

No leaks so far...

Has anyone had this experience? Do I have a slightly different vacuum pump and adapter assembly from some of the others that I 've read about?

Thanks

Hi, there are two different style vacuum pump assemblies. I did the same as you did with the o-rings. CPFF sent me just the seal when I told him what my pump looked like(he doesn't have the o-ring sizes for this other pump). I did this about a month ago and don't have any leaks yet.

I appreciate it. I hope I have the same luck.

I worried about going through the mess of changing the seal and still having a leak.

I hate to have to tear it apart again.

Is there an easy way to tell what kind of pump we have? I think I have a leak at the vac pump and would like to line up the parts. Also, does anyone have the part number to the gasket between the pump and the case? Thanks

CPFF sent me pictures of the different vacuum pumps to let me see the difference. If anyone would like copies PM with your email address and I will try and send them out.
