Pulled the pump off to put in a new seal kit and when I got the pump off there was two teeth missing from the drive gear
I rolled the motor over by the alternator and could not see any damage to any other gears. They either fell off inside or this is a reman pump the dealer put on a few years back and maybe that happened then.
Ordered a new drive gear from Cummins so hopefully Monday everything will be back together and running fine.
I hope nobody else has a surprise like this. My stomach initially sunk thinking the worse but after checking the other gears and having not drive issues I am betting that the reman came that way or when it was installed it got damaged.
