I has been determined that I need a new vacuum pump for my 1995 Dodge

2500 Cummins 12 valve. Does anyone know where I can get a new one at

the best price? I know this is an expensive part. Thanks.

Bruz'er,

Welcome to the TDR! :D

What's wrong with yours? If it's not pulling vacuum, then you need to replace it. You can get one that's been rebuilt. If it's broken, then you need to replace it. You can get one that's been rebuilt. If it's leaking oil, that can be dealt with by you or your mechanic whith new seals, or you can get one that's had seals put in it already. Do a search on "vacuum", search titles ONLY, and you'll find PLENTY of reading. The above mentioned website is an EXCELLENT place to start.

If you want a new one they can be had for @$800-$900.

Where are you at? At least put your state in your profile. I'm sure there are lots of people out there that could help you if we knew where you were.

Problem solved

As per advice from a reply I called Pete at Gould Gear & Electric. He

found it unlikely that it would be the vacuum pump. He had me check

some vacuum lines & the one that was under the battery box going

to the cruise control had deteriorated. I cut out the bad part on

the line, replacing it with a new section and the problem was solved.

I did not need a new vacuum pump, as a Dodge dealership told me.

Thank you Pete and TRD! Bruz
