Stupid question guys, my truck caught on fire and I was wondering where the vacuum pump is located and if I buy the $100 ford pump how would I hook the system up? Any help would be appreciated.

The vacuum pump is located on the left (driver's) side of the engine. It's flange mounted to the rear side of the timing gear case. The power steering pump is mounted onto the rear of the vacuum pump.

You could probably mount the Ford elec. vac. pump just about anywhere. There is only one vacuum line attached to the Cummins vac. pump - just relocate that to the Ford pump.

However, since the power steering pump is more or less an integral part of the vacuum pump you are still going to need to leave the Cummins vac. pump hardware in there in order for the power steering to work. If the fire did any damage to the seal between the vac. pump and power steering pump you may have a pretty serious leak. There is also an external oil line that goes to the vacuum pump.

Dremelts nailed it there. I had to replace my vacuum pump when my power steering pump quit working because it broke the coupler between them. The only advantage the ford pump has is if the one you have quits pulling vacuum. Any leaking or other problems, you still have to replace it because of the power steering (and brakes)

I don't think the Ford vacuum pump is enough for earlier trucks with vacuum assisted brakes, only the later models with hydro assisted. You have vaccuum brakes on a '95.
