I am looking at some Vacuum over Hydraulic brakes for my GN trailer. I am not sure how much vacuum is required to run the system yet, but was curious what the output of our vacuum pumps are? Is there some way to tap the pump to use the vacuum for an auxillary purpose? Is it possible or do they make a way to add another vacuum pump for auxillary purposes?

Put a test gauge on mine last week out of curiosity. Had 11" vac. Didn't matter on RPMs. If that is normal, it may be enough for the trailer. Would probably depend on the booster that it has.

The vac. pump on my Ford makes up to 26 at high idle. It has a vacuum booster instead of hydraulic like we have on our Rams.

Thanks for that information... ... ... . Not sure how much is required for the system but I was just curious how much vacuum our trucks pulled... ... ... . Thanks again.

Jason,

My old Vac/Hyd system had plenty to flat-spot the tires with 5-6" of vacuum. I used an electric pump which shut off at 24" but a steady 11" is more than adequate for the blu-dot systems.
