vacuum troubles?

i can't figure out where my cruise control went. nor can i figure out why i get all kinds of air through the dash vents when i've got the control shut off. or why, when i set the control to blow on my face, it comes out of the defroster. and when i ask the defroster to blow, it sometimes in my face. i've checked all of the little vacuum hoses i can find, and i don't believe i've knocked any of them off... help me, please!!:{

Don't know if you have an automatic trany but my 96 developed the same type problems including ABS light coming on. Turns out I fixed it all for about 5 cents of vacume hose. Here is what worked for mine..... the vacume line (small hard black plastic line) had a hole rubed in it where it had been rubbing on the back side of the trany fluid fill tube. Who knows if mine had the problem there might be others!!!

Did you check the vacuum hose to the CC actuator under the drivers side battery? Very common leak point.

If yours is a 96 there is a extended warranty by DC to cover bad vaum components. It seems there was a problem with oil from the power steering pump leaking into the vacum pump and oil getting into all of the vacum operated systems wich causes them to fail. My 96 had all the problems you describe and thats what it was. I believe the recall warranty is #720. Its 7years unlimited miles.

well, i don't know what happened to my signature... but it would have told you that yes, my truck is an automatic. does the recall also apply to 97s? i'll check under the battery for my leak. . i've got a feeling that's probably it. thanks, all!
