what provides the vacuum on my truck? is it a vacuum pump? if so, where is it located? i see something on the port side fender well. looks like a little diaphram thingy under a metal plate. thanks for the info. scott.
 
The vacuum pump is in front of the power steering pump and beneath the injector pump. You can follow a black plastic (nylon) tube from the fender area, down to the pump, where it connects with a fat rubber connector.

it's a pump that is mounted on the lower side of the passenger side of the engine I think... :confused:

You were looking at the cruise control diaphragm assembly.

Doc hit it on the nose. It's just below injection pump bolted onto gear housing. Power steering/hydroboost pump is attached to it via a coupling.
