Quick question please?

Anyone using a Gulf Coast Bypass filter???

I recently orderd a clutch assembly from Valair. Some of the best customer service I have had in a long time. When I recieved my order, one corner of the box had been crushed in shipping. Thanks UooooPS#@$%! . I gave them a call, explained to them the situation, a small area on both sides of the clutch plate was damaged. I emailed acouple of pics of box damage. They sent a new plate out that day, with a return label for the damaged one. Now I have to wait a few more days before I need to get back under the truck:{ :{

Should have bought a Southbend...

my thoughts exactly. all i can say is be very carefull in dealing with that company. really in the clutch world you do get what you pay for.

there is no other company that puts the time and effort into reaserch and design of there clutches, other than Southbend.

Did I just read that Southbend clutches are the only ones that won't be damaged by a shipper????????? How is it possibly the builder's fault that UPS damaged a package? It sounds to me like Valair responded quickly and appropriately to a problem they did not cause. Southbend may make a good clutch, but give me a break... ... ... .

Flamesuit on... ..... #@$%!

I agree, in all reality, wouldn't a damaged package be UPS's fault? Sounds like Valair has some good customer service at least. Hope their clutch doesn't require you to find out. Good Luck

PS. South Bend might be an awesome clutch, but they aren't the only good clutch, too each their own... .

I bought my sb not too long ago and the box was beat to hell... . I opened it to make sure nothing was damaged or missing. You could take the alignment tool out w/o opening the box. Has nothing to do with sb... . all ups.

If RobertP had not posted the finding that he made on his transmission, I wonder how many would have been damaged before the problem would have been fixed? After all, they had no idea that there was even a problem. That tells me that there was very little research done on the part before release.

Valair might of screwed up on the g56 conversion, but I have had southbend clutch before in a 5 speed and the valair in my 98 is as good as any sbc single disc I have used/driven.

the comment was that he quite possibly will be unhappy with his purchase and should have gotten a quality clutch, not about damages during shipping.

AMEN!

As much as I respect SBC and Peter - this CONSTANT and PREDICTABLE interjection of TDR/SBC cheerleaders tends to get absolutely SICKENING!

NO OTHER brand clutch can even be mentioned here without all the competing BS...

GIVE IT A REST GUYS!

i just simply stated that my dealing with that company have been way less that satisfactory. and it should be taken as buyer beware in dealings with them. i felt i made that very clear by posting a link to the other thread.

One would assuming when shipping a 50# package that proper packaging materials be used. my SBC box had some "wear" but the clutch was fine.

I have seen $20,000 servers that weigh in at 80#'s be shipped in a box with nothing but packaging peanuts and some extra "tape" to hold in the now "compressed" peanuts. No wonder all the ends were bent, few dead disk drives. I would be embarrassed to call UPS and issues a shipping damage claim.
