It provides no warning with laser!
I found out the hard way this morning on my way to work. Was doing 70 in a 60mph zone on the freeway, and as I crested a hill, there was a WSP (Washington State Patrol) standing outside of his cruiser with the laser gun pointed right at my truck. As soon as I saw him, my V-1 laser warning went ape for a second, but it was too late. He hopped in his car and chased me down... . He was a cool guy, and let me off with a warning. That surprised me because I think he saw my V-1 after I had pulled it off the winshield and stuck it in the cubbyhole in the dash. (I also still had the mounting bracket stuck to the windshield!)
It seems like more and more law enforcement agencies are switching to laser, and there is not a laser detector that I am aware of that provides enough warning to slow down in time.
Oh well, at least I know my speedo is dead on!
