on my 96, i plugged the line that goes from the afc/manifold to the turbo. There was a hole in it and it was causing the turbo to lose boost. Anyways, what would the valet switch do for me in my situation. I always thought the valet switch was used to make the truck smoke like a big dog.

Since your AFC is not getting a boost single (essentially what a valet switch does, cuts off the boost to the AFC) your AFC "foot" is never moving out of the way and you are in valet mode all the time.

maybe we are talking about 2 different lines? I was always told that the hose i plugged went to the wastegate to control the turbo boost. It used manifold pressure.

Then again, i might be wrong. But after plugging the line (bypassing the wastegate) i have much more boost. With those aftermarket turbos, the hose would be plugged. What should i do now?
