Well, seriously looking at getting a new truck.

I hate to just trade in the old one for the dealer to auction off.

I had a lot of work done on the pump - DD stage 2 - new injectors, del valves, 3000 gov springs, etc - dyno'd at 291hp.

Also DTT transmission. New HD transfer case. All done in 2002.

This truck pulls good! Does get hot when towing uphill esp on a hot day.

Gotten 20mpg empty highway.

Is anything like this selling? Or should I just trade it in?

Thanks for any input.

Frank

How's the body condition? Most folks we talked to when looking recently knew that a Cummins would last forever, but rust and damage changed the value more than mileage and mods.

Paint is faded. Truck has no rust - Bought in AZ, lives in CA. , not too near the ocean. 231,000 mi on the truck.

Fuel gauge hasn't worked for years.

Had the head gasket replaced not too long ago + was told that the valves didn't even need doing.

Thanks for the input.

Around here that's a 4-5 thousand dollar truck. You may squeeze 6 if the paint is good, interior is clean and body is straight. You could just go to the dealer and find out what they'll give you for it as a trade in. Standard cab or club cab?

I have had mine listed on TDR and Ebay and Craigs list over the past year asking 4500-5000 and have no takers. I drive mine all the time and I was in the same boat. The dealer offered 2000, so now I have two trucks. Just my experience to date.

Kelly blubook has em from 6500 t0 4500 depending on condition. Somebody just decided to turn right on the interstate and slammed into my door and cab minor damage to fender and bed got an estimate for 4500 I'm waiting to see if they total my truck over the price of a new door and some body work

#@$%!

4x2 is a whole different game.

Thanks for the replies!

It is a reg cab. Dealer, on the phone said around $2000.

I was thinking of going by a CarMax for their price. I don't need 2 trucks. Or the hassle of dealing with it.

Sounds like about $4000 would be reasonable.

Thanks again.

Sorry Guys - got it sold $4000. A fair price for all I believe.

BTW - I picked up my new truck - 2009 2500 Crew cab 4x4 long bed , 4. 10 rear end.

Very sweet! Drove 220 mi home on the freeway at 70 -80 mph - 14. 4 mpg ( if the dealer totally filled it )

Not the 20 mpg I got with the old truck but...

The mileage will get a little better as it breaks in. Also the mileage gets way better if you slow down a little. Anyway, congrats on the new truck.
