Value of Engine parts?

Hi,



I am having my 53 block replaced with another (not 53... . A mexican block act. ) that has the crank, cam, and pistons. The shop doing the work says they are willing to give value to my parts for some credit to the job. My block has 71K on it and I use Synthetic oil so the parts should be prestine.



How much are these parts worth as a group? What should I accept as a value?



I am also having them cut the section of the block where the crack was plus a clear section to get a cross section look at. Be neat to see the rear of the Lock-n-stitch pins in the repair I tried.....

In some instances the LS would probably do OK but the inherent weak spot on the side which is the entire length of the block, a crack could happen anywhere... . like with cliffman. He had another crack 3" from the old one... .

I really didn't need to hear that :{ I have a duplicate truck to you including the #53

If you don't tow heavy and stress the engine too hard, you might never have a problem with the crack..... My advice would be to just run it normal... . but not stress it too hard and wait til you get another truck...



If you do tow heavy, best thing is to get a new truck now or get a new engine. This replacement is costing me around $3000 total or so... .

Nobody has a clue to what the value of these parts are?



My truck has 71K on it so the parts should be very good condition, I need a value to know on what they are worth and then see what he wants to give me for them.
