Yes, I'm going to ask you to tell me how much my truck is worth, haha.
Got some family changes, kids, and the like going on and can't decide whether to sell the truck or keep it. It doesn't get used as a 3/4 truck should so I've been thinking of downsizing. Sucks to admit as a mechanic and lover of diesels, but getting out of debt and being economical is most important. And yes, truck is paid for, many years ago....
Stats...
2005 Dodge 2500. 4x4. 255k. Engine rebuild at 190k. Trans rebuild at 200k. Engine has head studs and economical tune. 30% over injector tips. Full rebuilt trans, built to hold 1000 ft/lb. Truck came front Texas, lived in IL since I bought it in 2010. Basically, 95% rust free. Just a little external surface rust popping up on both rear fenders. Nothing a wire brush wont fix. Truck has drop in bed liner, and undercoating. Also has herculiner all the way around quarter panels, cab corners, bed caps, fender edges, and both bumpers. Both bumpers are "cow-catchers". Nice rugged steel bumpers. Has gooseneck and all wiring. Interior is average. Once cleaned up, it's looks very nice inside. Yet, is a work truck version. So, vynyl floors, cloth seats, and NO options. That's correct, manual windows, manual locks, manual mirrors, but it's got AC. Haha.
To me, the truck is unstoppable. I build it that way on purpose. I'd expect driveline to last an easy 500-600k. Like, I'd be embarrassed if it didn't. Could make a run for 1 mill if it was driven on road consistently.
Wife wants something newer, and smaller, first kid on the way, and running options. This truck KBB for 12k, which about makes me cry. As with everyone that puts time and money into their trucks, I have put probably 25k into it. So what's a real world value of this baby.
I'm holding off pictures on purpose. I want to see if pics will help, or hurt value. Thanks.
