I've adjusted mine three times in 186k. The first time they needed a little, the other two times were a waste of time. I feel after the first adjustment you can up the interval to every 100k just like the 24 valves.

According to my tech manual the interval is 150,000 on 2001. 5 engines. Though my valves are tapping currently at just 31K. I plan to tighten them up a bit soon.

I was taught a long time back that it is better to here a valve tap than not to here it. Like the other post said . . too tight you burn up the valve $$$$$ to loose you spend a little more on fuel. NO brainer to me.
