Valve Adjusting

I want to run the overhead on my 92, its never had it done, the people I got it from serviced it well, but never done this, what is the precedure for this, I looked in the service manual and its alittle vague. Use the timing pin to find TDC? On my 03 I look at the balancer, can you not do this as well? And my 03 service manual said make sure #1 cyl. valves are loose prior to adjustment, if not rotate 180 deg. Its doesn't say anything about this on the 92. Is this same precedure for my 92?

On the new one, you can have the marks on the damper lined up and actually be on #6 TDC. That is why they say the #1 rockers should be loose. If they aren't, you need to rotate the crank 1 more turn. The timing pin on the 12v will only line up with #1 TDC.
