Screws are available sp/order

Any luck on finding those screw adjusters? That would be cool if you could get the 3rd gen adjusters to work on your 12 valve!

Called Cummins yesterday and the screws are available by special order. Cummins don't stock these, when they are replaced, the whole assembly [Rocker] is replaced as a unit. mine will be here when they get there stock order in a couple weeks. Saves shipping cost this way. Plus they had to go to the manufacture to order them, but they are available. I just adjusted my valves so no need to hurry. but will post as to how they work when I get to it. HUmmmmm maybe just re-do it again. This might start a new revaluation.

Jul the number that you gave me, he said was wrong. the last number was 8 not the 9 as stated. any way they are ordered.

thanks again Marv.

Can also be turned one way by the belt/alt. nut. I think its easier then using the tool. The BARRING tool goes on a long extension and fits in the bell housing on pass. side. (where the plug is) it fits in the flexplate/flywheel teeth and a rachet is used to turn engine over.

So, just put a socket on the bolt that hold the alternator pully on. and crank it huh?

Yup. That's the way it works. But it will only turn in one direction, or the belt slips. Have someone watch the mark and let you know when you are close, so you can go slower, and not overrun the mark.

where is the TDC mark on the block? I was poking around the other day and didn't see it.

There's no TDC mark on the block. It's on the damper pulley only and you just have to get the mark to "12 o'clock". Out of curiousity I tried just to the left and right of my version of 12 o'clock and it didn't change the valve lash measurements due to the extent of camshaft rotation relative to crankshaft rotation.

Geez, I must have sinned or something... . my 04 now has 160K and we've never had a valve cover off..... and my 05 now has 35K on it and its the same way... you guys make me feel guilty... .

But I'm playing in Mexico right now... and will be back next week... keep bumping this post to the top so I can find it and copy off the parts I need to get the job done...
