Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Valve adjustment torque / 24 valve

Adjusted valves today. The nuts took a lot ot muscle to break loose. 18flbs seemed very loose for retorqueing. Maybe my wrench is off. Gave them each a little more muscle. And rechecked the clearence.

Anyone think that might cause a problem?

I did mine approximately 5K ago and didn't use a torque wrench. I tightened them up good too and haven't had a problem.

Hobart - Like ARoss said I did the same - except it's been 50k - I checked everything out about 7k ago when I installed new injectors - it's all good.

Good news , thanks. I was at 55k. They were all realy loose. Hoping for an inprovement in mileage and less clack.
