I have read in some of my Mopar mags that there are some holes in the valve body seperator plate that can be drilled out, some checkballs that can be removed, and line pressure adjustments made when doing a fulid and filter change on the TF 727.

Is there similar things for the 47re?

Thanks

Drill!!!!

Put down the drill and step away from the valvebody!!!!!!

While using a drill to change sizes on some orifices and such is part of modifying a valvebody, there is more to it than that. There is a balance that must be considered when making changes. Just cranking up pressure and enlarging holes without considering effects and side-effects could leave one with a trans that not only doesn't shift well, but that will suffer an early and ugly death. The majority of the valvebodies or kits on the market are the result of a lot of work and research (along with destroyed parts!) to achieve a desired result. Many of the magazine articles I have read over the years are often filled with partial explanations at best and errors to make it worse. My opinion is to go with a proven manufacturer or vendor. The results are usually more predictable and if there is a problem, there is someone to turn to.

I have been repairing, building, modifying transmissions for over 25 years and have straightened out more DYI disasters than I care to remember. I will put my soap box away..... for now.
