Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Valve body interchangability.

I have the good fortune to have someone willing to give me their BD VB for my stock VB for a core.

His truck is a 97 12 valve, mine is a 98. 5 24 valve.

On BD's site, they have 2 different part #'s listed. Anyone know the difference?

They Are Both Re's. Chrysler Changed The Filter, Transfer Plate, And Some Settings From The Factory Between 97 And 98 24v. Will It Bolt In? Yes. Will It Shift Right? Poss Not. You Might Have To Play With Some Different Throttle Or Shift Valve Settings Or Spring To Make It Shift At The Right Time. Hope This Helps.

Thanks for the advice. I was aware they were both 47re's. I amthinking I might pass, as free as it is.

I'll be getting a full trans eventually anyway.

I drive with my comp off, and only run all the time on my injectors. My stock trans is still hanging in there, with 99K on the ticker.
