Valve body question

What is the difference between the 47re and 48re valve bodies? I may be wrong, but I think some of these companies are selling a 47re VB that has been upgraded to guys with 48re trannys. If DCX made significant or meaningful upgrades to the 48re then that is B. S. Input pls!

There is an extra plate in there. The PRNDL switch is not on the 47RE it just has a P and N switch. The shifter lever is different. I think pre 2000 the solenoid and pressure sensor are different

the plate has a bigger hole in the 2 gear shift,like adding a b&m kit. the plate under the upper v-b near switch valve has been widened to allow the fluid to release quicker for lock up in the t-c. the v-b is of the same diminsions. just has small changes internal,plus the shift lever(rooster comb as called in plant). whats the extra plate? I thought they just changed the plate? I have not built the v-b in 6-7 years, but still can in my sleep. Oo.
