Just recieved my DTT Valve Body and also the new Variable resistor. I am having a hard time deciding to use the new adjustable or the old solder in one. It seems if I open the harness covering I can solder the old style in place, close the covering and you would never know it was there. The new one also connects to the same wire but has a hot and battery ground lead. This hook up would be very noticeable and must use a key on hot lead. Has anyone used this new one and if so what is the closest key on hot lead by the air box. I want to keep my hook up as short as possible. I got the variable one so the install shop would not have to mess with any wiring and I could preadjust.

Never heard of the variable..........

Whats the advantage? Just curious. I have the California PCM and it sets codes for me. Does it have anything to do with that?

Garrett,

I do not know if there is an advantage. I quess it is just easier to fine tune the exact voltage to the tranee. Maybe if yours was tweeked it would not set off codes. I am sure Bill K could answer your and my questions. I just want to know if anyone used this where they hooked the key on power lead to.

The variable allows for constant tuning, as you add more power and adjust your transmission.

It's a convenience, so you don't have to keep changing resistors after making changes.

Makes my job easier, too.
