if i upgraded my trans with a v b would the tourqe convertor have better holding capacity and firmer shifts. i was thinking of a suncoast unit. any input would be good.
there are some that i would stay away from and some that are well worth the money-------do your reserch and call and talk to some companys that should sell you. i recommend gorends , or NADP
I would not be too optimistic about firm shifts with the stock tc as loose as it is, if by firm you mean the engine rpms actually drop significantly at upshift. Valve body alone is not going to do that for you.
Yes, you will get firmer shifts if the VB raises the pressures. However, the TC clutch is the weak point and if you push it too much on lockup it will start deteriorating. A VB is a good start with the next step being a decent TC.
