Valve clearance

How often do you check your valve clearance on your 1st. gen? Its been over 50,000 miles for me. I think the book says every 24,000 miles, but is it really necessary to do it that often?

Valve Adjustment...

Just read, initial @24,000 then at 48,000 intervals. That's what I understood. Happy rattling... Patrick Oo.

My Cummins manual says check/adjust every 2 years or 24,000 miles. Heck you don't have a big tall 4wd, so it shouldn't be that rough on the back :-laf , climb in there and check, thats alot of miles without at least checking/setting.
